Executive Level 1 – Communications Officer
The TGA are looking for an experienced communications and media coordination professional to drive consumer led communication within the Special Access Section. The section is responsible for administering the pathways that provide access to unapproved therapeutic goods, including high-profile products such as medicinal cannabis, psychedelic medicines and vaping products.

Position Duties:
To be successful you will have strong strategic thinking, and exceptional writing, editing and content creation skills. You will be great at managing projects and timelines to deliver great communication outcomes. You will exercise sound judgement, demonstrate active listening and have a high degree of initiative.
• Provide a broad range of communication support including strategy development, issues management, and media liaison.
• Deliver high quality outputs including media releases, media responses, communication strategies and online content including social media.
• Review all standard wording procedure documents for BAU such as for enquiry and media responses.
• Draft high-level responses to complex correspondence such as ministerial and media requests, seeking clinical input where appropriate.
• Under limited supervision, lead the development and implementation of communication, engagement and media strategies for projects and initiatives.
• Review all relevant webpage content to ensure language is appropriate for the audience and conveys the intended meaning in simplest possible plan English.
• Gain and maintain solid understanding of relevant legislation, guidance material and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with recruitment of staff as required.
