St Vincent and the Grenadines ship 49.8kg Cannabis to Germany

After getting a licence for export to Germany, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines shipped a cargo of 49.8 kilogrammes of medical cannabis to the European country.

After getting a licence for export to Germany, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines shipped a cargo of 49.8 kilogrammes of medical cannabis to the European country. Official announcements and a local official familiar with the situation revealed the information on Thursday.

Saint Vincent, a country with a population of slightly over 110,000 people, has had a thriving cannabis sector for many years. It also established a state body in 2018 to manage licencing and ensure local patients get access to medical cannabis.

According to the official, who asked not to be identified because he is not permitted to speak publicly about the topic, the shipment left on January 18 and is due to reached Germany the following day.

The source stated that cargo was sold by the Caribbean Cannabis Company, which currently sells a number of products in the area.

St Vincent Agriculture Minister Saboto Caesar said the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices had authorised a licence to St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“The Medicinal Wellness Industry area in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is ready for global business,” Caesar said, adding that the government aims to create other wellness goods such as traditional remedies and the developing field of psychedelic medicine.

It was the first medicinal cannabis export by a member of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States, which consists of 11 countries and overseas territories on the Caribbean Sea’s eastern coast.
