France has a long tradition of farming hemp – an old plant related to the cannabis family – that  almost died out in the 1970s. But faced with the challenges of climate change, the plant is making a come-back and France is now the world’s third largest producer. Franck Barbier, head of the Interchanvre body representing French hemp farmers, explains why industrial hemp has a bright future.
