Announcement: Apply to become part of the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board

Apply to become part of the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board!

The Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board (OPAB) was established by the Oregon Psilocybin Services Act, which is now codified in Oregon law in ORS 475A.

Under ORS 475A, the advisory board:

  • makes recommendations to OHA on available scientific studies and research on the safety and efficacy of psilocybin in treating mental health conditions; on requirements, specifications, and guidelines for providing psilocybin services in Oregon; on public health and safety standards; on professional code of conduct; and on facilitator education and training;
  • develops recommendations for a long-term strategic plan for ensuring that psilocybin services will become and remain a safe, accessible, and affordable option for all persons 21 years of age and older in this state for whom psilocybin may be appropriate; and
  • monitors federal laws, regulations, and policies regarding psilocybin.

Members of the OPAB are appointed by the Governor to serve four-year terms. Because many advisory board members are close to finishing their four-year appointment terms in March of 2025, a number of vacancies will soon become available. We encourage you to consider joining the advisory board by visiting the following page to learn more: Apply to become an Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board member. Please note that board appointments are handled by the Governor, not by Oregon Psilocybin Services.
