LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is calling a recent drug bust one of their “bigger stops.”
Deputies pulled over a van Tuesday afternoon for several traffic violations on Interstate 80 near the North 56th Street exit outside Lincoln. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said the driver was speeding, failed to signal, and was driving on the shoulder.
A K9 unit indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, prompting deputies to search the van. They discovered 44 pounds of cocaine in heat-sealed bags in the cargo area, with an estimated street value of $700,000.
