A couple from Balti were detained by the police with a kilogram and a half of hashish, which reportedly costs a total of half a million lei on the black market. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the sales were made online and the couple allegedly sold drugs through Telegram to customers in Balti and the north of the country, IPN reports.
The police searched the home of the couple and seized accessories for the sale and consumption of drugs, cartridges and marijuana found there. The car used to transport the prohibited substances is to be confiscated for the benefit of the state, according to the court’s decision.
The 43-year-old woman and the 46-year-old man were placed in pre-trial detention for 30 days, as the Balti Court decided at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases. The two benefit in the meantime from the presumption of innocence.
