The contraband was found in parcels at a warehouse of a package-forwarding company in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, Cebu.
According to PDEA-7’s Seaport Interdiction Unit, the discovery was made around 3 p.m. during a random inspection. Of the three packages containing the illegal substances, two were addressed to the same consignee, raising suspicions of organized trafficking.
Authorities confirmed that both the sender and consignee of the packages would face appropriate charges under the law.
PDEA-7 commended the management of the forwarding company for their cooperation in the operation, emphasizing the importance of vigilance in curbing drug trafficking.
The incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug distribution using courier services, with authorities urging companies to remain alert for suspicious shipments.
