Kabul: Afghan police in Khost province have uncovered a significant drug haul, seizing 43 kg of illicit drugs, including 43 kg of hashish, in a major operation against drug trafficking. Authorities also arrested one individual involved in smuggling the contraband. The discovery took place outside Khost city on Sunday, with police also seizing a piece of AK-47 during the operation.
Provincial police spokesman, Tahir Ehrar, confirmed the arrest and emphasized the commitment of Afghan authorities to combat the production and smuggling of illegal substances, including hashish and poppy, within the region. “We will not allow anyone to produce or smuggle hashish, poppy, or any objects used in the manufacturing of heroin,” Ehrar said.
