UK Parliament – Medical Cannabis Debate – Hansard Transcript 30 January 2025 – David Mundell MP (Con) “Sadly, byzantine rules on prescribing and overlapping and onerous regulations are holding the sector back.”

I have now subsequently uploaded the debate to the Karma Koala Podcast You Tube Channel

You’ll see that very few MPs turned up. Mundell made excuses for them saying they all had to be back in their constituencies it being a Thursday …

Here’s what was said – the debate took up 1 hour and 11 minutes of parliamentary time.

I have highlighted some cogent points and the minister’s usual vague reply but the language should tell you that NHS funded cannabis medicine is a long way off and the lack of language about legalization illustrates that it will never be on this govenment’s radar.

As usual the discussion is in the main about  trials, how much money companies can make and medicine for children as that’s the only way to get any debate up about cannabis in the UK.

I can’t find a list of attending MP’s but from the comments it appears that no Labour govt members could “find the time” to attend  apart from the relevant minister which essentially tells you everything you need to know.

Plus ca change..
