Israel Exports Pass the First Knesset Reading
The proposal to export medical cannabis from Israel passed its first Knesset reading. Sponsored by the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Knesset Interior Committee, the proposal passed 17-0. The proposal will have to go through two more readings and be approved by the Prime Minister, Netanyahu.
Lawmakers are optimistic, however, that this time the law would be approved with revisions. “We believe it’s medicine and it’s important … It’s a big potential for Israeli farmers and the economy,” said Likud MK Yoav Kish. Kish is pushing for a complete passing of exports by the year’s end.
