On Oct. 9, 2024, the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) took the following two actions:

Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) – Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR 101) Filed

The Board approved a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR 101) to consider amending WAC 314-55-035 and amending, repealing, or creating other sections of Title 314 WAC as needed to specifically allow Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) in connection with a cannabis license in a way that is consistent with other Washington laws and regulations.

 

THC Bill (E2SSB 5367) – Final Rules (CR 103) Filed

The Board approved final rules (CR 103) to amend several sections of chapter 314-55 WAC to implement Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill (E2SSB) 5367, regarding the regulation of products containing THC. These rule changes will be effective in 90 days, on Jan. 7, 2025.

LCB Action: Acceptable Identification Reform – Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR 101) Filed

On Oct. 9, 2024, the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) took the following action:

The Board approved a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR 101) to consider amending WAC 314-11-025 and WAC 314-55-150, and amending, repealing, or creating other sections of Title 314 WAC as necessary to respond to two rulemaking petitions accepted in April 2023 and another in July 2023 on allowable types of identification.

The LCB is asking for stakeholder feedback and input on this topic by Nov. 20, 2024.
