New: Revised guidance documents

The CCB has recently published updated guidance documents on Product Labeling and Product Registration as well as Pesticide Use to our website.

  • The Product Labeling and Registration Guidance summarizes the requirements for product characteristics, packaging, and labeling. There are also new visual guides for pre-registration checklists and testing requirements.
  • Additionally, CCB staff have updated the Pesticide Use Guidance with a revised list of permissible pesticide active ingredients, developed in consultation with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture.

Reminder: training requirements

Retail employee training: required upon hiring and once a year

Board Rules 2.2.5(b) and 2.2.5(c) require that all customer-facing employees of retail cannabis establishments complete trainings within the first 60 days of hiring and once a year after that.

The CCB has authorized vendor trainers to offer courses to satisfy this requirement.

Compliance and enforcement training: required once every three years

The requirement for retail employees detailed above is separate from 2.2.5(a), which requires that anyone who works at, controls, or plays a significant operational role at any cannabis establishment (not just retail), must complete a compliance and enforcement training once every three years.

The CCB published video trainings for cultivation and retail establishments that satisfy this requirement. More videos to cover other license types are in the works.

Please contact CCB.Info@vermont.gov if you have questions about educational requirements.

Thank you for the feedback on proposed rule amendments
