Italian Mafia police experts are advising An Garda Síochána on how to take down Ireland’s number-one drug trafficking network, the west-Dublin crime gang known as The Family.
On Monday of last week, gardaí attached to the specialist Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) began a major offensive against the organisation in a swoop of arrests first in Ireland and later in Spain, with the latter probe involving various international police agencies.
