NSW Police say they have arrested an entire “dial-a-dealer” syndicate involved in supplying prohibited and prescription drugs across NSW.
More than 20 search warrants were carried out in dawn raids on Tuesday morning, leading to dozens of arrests that police said amount to the “entire syndicate”.
The arrests come 10 months after detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad established Strike Force Sugarcane to investigate the activities of an organised criminal network based in south-west Sydney.
Police allege their investigations revealed the group controlled a “significant illicit drug distribution chain” covering the importation of the drugs through to street-level supply.
Part of the group’s supply activities involved a “sophisticated dial-a-dealer syndicate” allegedly delivering prohibited and prescription drugs to users across NSW.
