It’s not a done deal yet.
Australian preferencing politics is confusing and a long haul but chances are improving for the candidate
For those outside of Australia it’s worth reminding you that there are already X2 Legalize Cannabis state senators in the West Australia upper house and the same again in Victoria.
Now there’s been a proper tallying of votes in NSW this is the latest update from the NSW arm of the party after the Saturday vote
As counting continues following Saturday’s NSW state election the good news is that we are in with a good chance of our lead candidate Jeremy Buckingham picking up a seat in the Legislative Council (Upper House).
We can’t claim victory just yet because the counting is slow (only 36% has been counted so far) and there are still preferences to be factored in as well as below-the-line (BTL) votes.
What we do know though is that as of this morning, our vote in the Upper House is sitting at approximately 4% and that is within the range of winning a seat.
As with Victoria and WA before it, we will be waiting a while for the final result, and we will keep you posted as the count progresses.
We ran in 23 lower house seats and achieved some amazing results.
