Australian beverage brand +Hemp expands globally

Australian wellness brand +Hemp (Plus Hemp) is expanding its range of hemp-infused beverages globally, including the launch of a new flavour.

Having launched in South Korea in 2022 and made its Japanese debut in 2023, the company is gearing up to expand its offerings to New Zealand and India in 2024.

Aside from international expansion, the brand has added a Dragonfruit flavour to its existing Guarana, Lemon and Lime, and Raspberry and Mango lineup.

+Hemp is known for its hemp-infused, fruit-flavoured energy drinks, with caffeine from green tea and vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12. It was also the first brand to utilise hemp as a food ingredient, a move recently legalised in the country in 2017.

Hemp is derived from the seed of certain varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant; it does not contain any THC and has no psychoactive or hallucinogenic effects.

Natalie Beanie, founder of +Hemp, recalled she discovered hemp’s benefits when she began using it to treat her psoriasis, and after seeing significant results, she began to include the ingredients in her food and protein shakes.

Inspired to bring an alternative to the energy drink space, she teamed up with a pharmaceutical lab to scientifically formulate +Hemp.

“Initially, we were challenged by the stigma associated with hemp,” said Beanie.

“Many people were worried it was an illegal drug, but we have managed to change this perception.”

+Hemp is available for an RRP of $4 in select IG and BP outlets and select cafes and fitness centres nationwide.
