About the role:
This role will be responsible for identifying and securing relationships with new customers and manage existing customers accounts by proactively undertaking a variety of business development and sales activities, networking, marketing and customer service activity, in order to achieve targets.
The Business Development Manger will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth, making meaningful connections, identifying new opportunities, and delivering results in the dynamic cannabis industry.
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
- Primary responsible for the effective development and implementation of the business development plan to deliver our KPIs in terms of Customer prospects, leads, proposals and contracted customers.
- Liaise with external agencies and in-house teams to ensure commercial terms are aligned with regulatory framework/requirements.
- Ensure deliverables for customers are coordinated with Demand planning and are completed as per agreed timelines.
- Ensure commercial contracts are executed to deliver agreed margins.
- Build the profile of the company within Australia, establishing the company as a reputable and reliable partner.
- Build relationships with existing partners and new potentials customers/partners ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
- Develop and implement a business plan that is aligned to achieve the company’s revenue and gross profit targets for the Australia/NZ region.
- Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders, commercial operations, manufacturing, research & development, regulatory, quality teams to explore business opportunities in order to increase revenue and profitability.
- Effectively work with the commercial operations team to ensure efficiencies in meeting customer expectations to the highest quality and within a timely manner.
- Regularly share insights on the domestic medicinal cannabis market and provide feedback to the company which will help shape the local business plan and the broader company strategic plan.
- Collate and analyse sales figures and prepare proposals for business development campaigns.
- Prepare reports and recommendations in terms of sales and market strategies for senior management.
- Explore, develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Promote, monitor, analyse and report on the effectiveness of projects to meet strategic and income generation objectives.
- Research and build relationships with new clients, developing a rapport and providing support that will continually improve the relationship.
- Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new products to clients to enhance existing relationships.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop Cann Group’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Monitor and regularly report on key performance indicators and management processes within areas of responsibility and take appropriate action to achieve improved service delivery and business objectives.
- Within parameters established by your manager, you will plan and prioritise your own workload.
- Comply with the organisation published policies, especially confidentiality, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity.
- Keep up to date with the appropriate legislation, regulations, guidelines & best practice.
