California, one of the world’s largest pot markets, whose culture around the plant runs deep, actually saw its cannabis market shrink last year, holding back growth in the legal U.S. industry overall a new report said. Meanwhile, marijuana stocks made modest gains.

The size of California’s legal marijuana market shrank to $2.5 billion last year, from $3 billion in 2017, according to a report from BDS Analytics and Arcview Market Research.
