RCMP have arrested five men after executing search warrants at an illegal cannabis storefront in Eskasoni and a residence in Howie Centre.
Officers searched the storefront on Shore Road, arresting two men from Eskasoni, ages 32 and 37. A 41-year-old man from Eskasoni was arrested at the home in Howie Centre. Police seized a large quantity of illegal cannabis, psilocybin, unstamped tobacco, a rifle, ammunition, cash, and a vehicle.
The three men are facing charges under the Cannabis Act for possessing cannabis for distribution and sale, as well as charges under the Excise Act. The 41-year-old is also charged with unlawful firearm possession and careless use of a firearm.
