Employees of the State Security Service seized 25.8 kg of hashish

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Employees of the State Security Service (SSS) in Surkhandarya region seized 25.8 kg of hashish smuggled from Tajikistan.

During the operation, two citizens were detained who received the narcotics from a drug dealer in Tajikistan and attempted to hide it under an electrical pole near a wedding hall in Shurchin district. After their arrest, it was revealed that another individual was supposed to pick up the hashish.

Law enforcement agencies continued the operation and detained a resident of Uzun district.

Thus, SSS officers intercepted a channel at the Shurchin section of the Uzbek-Tajik state border.

In another operational effort conducted by SSS officers in Ferghana region, a Chevrolet Tracker vehicle traveling from Kokand to Ferghana was stopped. Upon inspection, it was found that three residents were transporting 11 kg and 966 grams of hashish. A married couple from Ferghana, who owned the narcotics, was also detained. They were following the Chevrolet Tracker in another vehicle. It is worth noting that this couple had previously been convicted of drug-related crimes.

It was found that the couple purchased the narcotics from a woman in Kokand, who was also detained. The narcotics were imported into Uzbekistan from Tajikistan.

In another case, during the inspection of a Nexia vehicle in Koshtepa district, it was discovered that a passenger, a resident of Kokand, was transporting 1 kg and 941 grams of hashish.

The narcotics belonged to a woman from Kokand, who had been previously detained. The drugs were being transported for distribution in Margilan.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against all detainees, and they are being held in custody pending further legal proceedings.
