Police arrested a 38-year-old unemployed man in Nabua, Suva, after being found with seven sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in aluminium foil.
Six men are in Police custody awaiting drug analysis after allegedly being found in possession of marijuana on Christmas day.
They were arrested as the Fiji Police Force continues confiscating illicit drugs, and its operations during the festive season.
Southern Division
Police arrested a 38-year-old unemployed man in Nabua, Suva, after being found with seven sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in aluminium foil.
A raid at Qauia, Lami, arrested a 24-year-old unemployed man who was allegedly found with a branch of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
A 52-year-old man of Nakelo, Tailevu, was found with 20 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in aluminum foil.
Meanwhile, two men from Vusuya, Kuku near Nausori Town, were arrested at Valelevu, Nasinu, yesterday after they were allegedly found with two ziplock plastic bags containing crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Western Division
A 50-year-old unemployed man of Tomuka, Lautoka, was arrested for allegedly being in possession of five sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in aluminium foil.
As Police continue their drug operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu said they would be on the lookout for opportunists in picnic spots and communities.
