Here’s the press release

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA. September 6, 2023: Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that William G. Roark (age 42), has become the new Managing Partner of the firm. Roark succeeds Steven H. Lupin, who held the position for over 30 years. The two had served as co-managing partners for the past year.

Roark joins the ranks of younger managing partners, locally and nationally, under the age of 45 who have taken up the leadership reins in firms they grew up in and call their professional homes.

Said Roark: “This is a stellar time for our firm and our clients. We are seeing and capitalizing on opportunities that have never been presented to us before. We are extremely optimistic about our future because it is centered on ensuring that we are of constant and irreplaceable help to our clients, serving as their steady hand. While we have seen other law firms recently reduce their office footprints and lawyer and staff counts, we are doing just the opposite so that we can best serve our clients’ growing needs. In the summer of 2023 we relocated to a newly renovated, state of the art office in Lansdale. Simultaneously, we have added respected and talented lawyers to our team. We remain laser-focused on adding true value to our clients’ lives and businesses.”

An attorney at the firm since his graduation from Villanova Law School, Roark became partner in 2016. He started his career as a litigation attorney focusing on catastrophic injury law. He then built the firm’s now flourishing cannabis and medical marijuana practice from scratch into one of the most respected in the state. He is the long-time co-chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Medical Marijuana and Hemp Law Committee and has a full-time practice advising manufacturers, owners and operators on compliance, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory issues. Recognized locally and nationally as a leader in his field, Bill has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America® for Cannabis Law for 2023-2024.

Roark is an adjunct professor teaching “Cannabis Law and Regulation” at Villanova University Law School, having previously taught at Temple University Beasley School of Law, and guest lectured at the University of the Sciences. He is an Officer of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania. An active member of the Montgomery Bar Association, chairing and participating in various committees, Bill is a past editor of the Montgomery County Law Reporter, past chair of the Environmental Law Committee and a contributing editor to Montgomery County’s Civil Practice Manual.

A graduate of Bucknell University (B.A. Economics, cum laude, 2003), Bill received his law degree withhonors in 2006 from Villanova University School of Law where he served as a member of the VillanovaMoot Court Board Executive Committee.Revered by his colleagues and clients, Steve Lupin will continue to focus on his robust litigation practice.Added Roark: “We thank him for the superior job he did leading this firm.
