India: NCB busts international drug racket in Goa, two foreign nationals arrested

A large consignment of ecstasy pills, high grade Mephedrone, high quality Hashis and Rs 4. 5 lakh were recovered from the two accused.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has recently busted an international drug cartel which was active in Goa. The officials arrested two foreign nationals and seized a total of 107 MDMA tablets, 40 grams of high grade Mephedrone and 55 grams of high quality hashish from them.

The action was taken after the NCB, Goa Sub Zonal Unit, received input about a drug syndicate operated by foreign nationals in North Goa area. Based on the inputs, intellengence sources were contacted and details of a young Russian woman named Ambika were analysed. The woman was reportedly operating along with another associate named J Lee, who is also a foreigner.

After investigation, it was found that the accused used to supply drugs to white tourists only and were operating in Goa for a long period. Lee is a British national based out of Goa’s Mapusa.

Ambika was in possession of a consignment of ecstasy pills for further distribution and was located near Uddo Beach, Siolim, North Goa. The officials of NCB-Goa Sub Zone immediately moved into the area and setup a trap to physically identify and apprehend the lady before she had distributed the contraband to others.

50 pills of ecstasy were recovered from her possession and she was taken into custody immediately for further investigation.
