Per sources, major layoffs have hit national brand Cookies over the past 24 hours – potentially reducing staff numbers from a high of 200 down to 50.
From what I understand, these layoffs are not impacting local Cookies retail outlets in Massachusetts, but the reduction in force (ROF) is national in scope (with California, in particular, being the hardest hit area of operations).
The layoffs may also be impacting a cultivation partnership between Cookies and Massachusetts firm CommCann, although the nature of that impact is unclear at this time (Cookies has a number of similar partnerships across the US, as well).
This is a developing story. More as I know it.
