It’s episode 127 and one of our favorite people in this weird and wonderful world of marijuana/hemp/ cannabis, whatever you want to call it is Rod Kight.
His knowledge of the market and legal issues is encyclopedic but not only that he’s one of the few US lawyers from day one who has involved himself in international work and legal issues with regard to cannabis.
He has clients around the world who we know have benefited from his keen insight .
Per our header its all about hemp at this juncture so we dig into that as well as his thoughts on what’s happening outside the US
Thankyou Rod for joining us on the Karma Koala podcast.
ROD KIGHT
ATTORNEY | AUTHOR | ADVOCATE
Licensed in North Carolina and Oregon
I am an attorney who represents businesses in the cannabis industry in the US and internationally. I consult, assist with strategic planning, advise on compliance issues, and offer a full array of business services to the cannabis sector. I also draft legislation for governments and promote cannabis in lawful international markets.
ROD’S STORY
I have been an advocate for cannabis reform all of my adult life and personally experienced its beneficial effects while undergoing chemotherapy treatments for testicular cancer. I have been in remission for years. You can read about my cannabis law journey by clicking here. I am fortunate to provide legal services to businesses in the cannabis industry, including hemp, CBD, THC, novel and emerging cannabinoids, and medical and adult use marijuana.
For almost 25 years I have represented thousands of businesses and individuals in legal matters. During that time I have provided legal guidance to clients covering a broad span of business issues, including entity formation, contract drafting and negotiation, shareholder disputes, joint ventures, mergers, tax matters, intellectual property protection, commercial litigation, appeals, asset sales, bankruptcy, and dissolution.
