Karma Koala Podcast 200: April Pride – Psychedelics Education & Women’s Health

As it’s our 200th episode something a little different.

April Pride is an entrepreneur, initially operating in cannabis and now working in psychedelics.

She found after a couple of exits that unsurprisingly women’s health and education both in cannabis and psychedelics, were, as usual not getting the same level of attention as resources directed towards men.

So, rather than waiting for somebody else,  like any good entrepreneur she has started tackling the myriad of issues herself.

It goes without saying that it’s the knowldge gleaned and shared by April is an important part of any legal professionals toolkit wanting to work both in cannabis and psychedelics as it will be sometime yet before traditional knowledge companies cotton on to what’s happening.

I am responsible for bringing category-defining brands, products, and campaigns to market.

And they’re always a first: First to market, first in class, first to win.

Because they want only to be first in the hearts of women* who make unorthodox choices related to their health and well-being – from style to substance.

*Women is a general term that describes the specific audience to which I speak: every.body. navigating life with female hormones. every.body. who feels safest within women-friendly spaces. every.body. experiencing mental health challenges related to the presence and/or absence of female hormones.

Unorthodox choices define my lucky career and life. Both are driven by creative thinking and a commitment to the greatest good for all and getting here took me a lifetime. I invite you to get to know my work through professional highlights, but my favorite ongoing projects are always at home.

I created The High Guide, a podcast about women changing their lives thanks to altered states of consciousness. As the writer and host, I became a student of psychedelics—yes, in all the ways. The first thing I learned was that listeners wanted access to safe psilocybin. Much like when I launched Van der Pop, consumer choices were absent of connection and trust.

Enter OF LIKE MINDS, a brand representing the best psilocybin products in the decriminalized city of Seattle, and bundled with educational downloads to ensure consumers were well informed ahead of consumption.

Two years later, I passed off the distribution to a trusted partner so I could fully operate above ground as the CEO Founder of SetSet, the world’s first clinician-backed psychedelic integration platform and community for women. This pioneering brand is taking shape to support legal ketamine-assisted therapy and rapidly unfolding psilocybin decriminalization across North America.
