LIM College Confers Nation’s First Master of Professional Studies (MPS) Degrees in The Business of Cannabis
May 22, 2023 (New York, NY) —
LIM College held its Class of 2023 Commencement ceremony at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center on New York City on May 20. Among the more than 450 graduates receiving associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the business of fashion and lifestyle were more than a dozen students who comprised the inaugural class at LIM, and are the first in the nation, to earn Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degrees in The Business of Cannabis.
LIM became the first college in the United States to offer an MPS degree in The Business of Cannabis in 2022 after earning approval from the New York State Education Department.
The College also offers the nation’s first Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program in The Business of Cannabis, which will graduate its first class in 2026.
The new graduates are entering an industry that is expected to grow rapidly and offer an expansive range of career options.
According to Leafly, America’s total annual legal cannabis revenue is expected to reach $45 billion by 2025. It is also projected that more than 100,000 new jobs will be created during the next five years in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area along, according to CannabizTeam’s Tri-State 2022 Cannabis Industry Salary Guide.
Michael Zaytsev, academic director of cannabis degree programs at LIM College, said,

Among the graduates were students who began working in the industry through internships while studying at LIM, and others who have secured positions following graduation at organizations that include House of Puff, Cmed, Oak Cliff Cultivators, and more.
