Multimedia Specialist  (240006NU)

Description

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Multimedia Content Manager and the Director of Digital and Creative Services, the Multimedia Specialist assists with day-to-day operations related to the Commission’s multimedia and creative services efforts while providing assistance and support in executing multimedia projects for internal and external audiences in line with the Commission’s branding, digital media, and external affairs strategies.  The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented and exercises good judgment in a variety of situations with the ability to handle a range of tasks under pressure in a dynamic and creative environment. A portfolio, reel, or samples demonstrating past work is required. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Commissioners and staff in departments across the Commission with projects in but not limited to: Communications, Equity Programming, Community Outreach, Government Affairs, Human Resources, Enforcement, and Research; 
  • Assist and support with developing, editing, and producing multimedia content for the Commission’s external digital platforms and campaigns as well as internal communications, including other post-production needs such as graphics, audio mixing, color correction, and transcription; 
  • Review, cull, and edit, video footage, general photography, stock images, and graphics ensuring digital assets align with Commission branding, mission, and digital communications strategy; 
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency. 
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of multimedia projects and productions, including managing production timelines and checklists, coordinating principals’ schedules, communicating with Commission staff, and general administrative planning and support; 
  • Provide secondary filming support, including capturing b-roll and multicamera operations during production, including setup and breakdown of lighting, camera, audio, and incidental equipment; 
  • Assist in the loading and transportation of multimedia equipment and provide support in equipment inventory and tracking; 
  • Track all internal multimedia requests and ensure projects are completed efficiently and timely; 
  • Organize and assist in managing the Commission’s digital asset management system and library of creative assets; and 
  • Administrative support work as needed, and all other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Attend public meetings, hearings, speaking engagements, and/or other productions and events that directly impact the Commission’s communication, marketing, and outreach efforts; 
  • Ability to build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, integrity, cooperation, and mutual regard; 
  • Ability to accept personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and for meeting expectations; 
  • Physical ability to move and hold recording equipment for long periods, including setup and breakdown of equipment up to 60 lbs. 
  • Ability to seek opportunities to resolve problems, achieve goals, or otherwise advance the Commission’s mission; and 
  • Ability to work in and travel to the Commission’s offices in Worcester and/or Boston as well as production sites throughout Massachusetts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts Production, Broadcast Journalism, Filmmaking, Communications, Marketing or a related field preferred. 

Associate’s degree in Video Production with strong portfolio or reel will be considered. 

Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000

This position is non-civil service. This position is an exempt position.
