Colombia continues to strengthen its position as a leader in cannabis exports, recently adding North Macedonia to its destination list.
This new market opens thanks to the export of 180 seedlings of asexual plant material from cannabis sativa from the municipality of La Ceja, Antioquia. The seedlings, certified by the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), meet all the phytosanitary requirements demanded by North Macedonia, which highlights the strict quality control under which it operates.

President Petro, in his call to Congress, argues that the legalization of cannabis can represent a significant economic advance for the country by fully harnessing the potential of the world market. Such a measure would help channel economic benefits towards improving the country’s trade balance and creating new opportunities for local producers.
