Biortica Agrimed today announced the successful release from quarantine of the first 18 new genetics it has imported into Australia.
4 of these genetics have already been pre-sold.
This shipment includes the renowned triploid – “OG Triploid” – from Humboldt Seed Company of California.
“Planting in our glasshouses has already commenced,” said Biortica’s Chief Operating Officer, Kathleen Ward.
“We’re just as keen as everyone else to see how these new genetics, and especially the Triploids, perform,” she said.
Triploids are a naturally occurring genetic variants of cannabis plants occurring at a rate as low as 0.5%. Through a process of grow-out and rigorous natural selection Triploid strains of plants can be grown that are GMO-free. So Genetic Selection is achieved by partnering with nature rather than genetically modifying plants.
“OG is one of very few strains that represent the very top 0.1% of top performing Humboldt’s genetics,” said Ward.
“Biortica’s investment in partnering with Humboldt Seed Company of California, and our investment in acquiring Canada’s Apollo Green are now beginning to deliver,” she said.
“OG Triploid, a hybrid of Indica and Sativa genetics, displays vigorous growth, can be ready to harvest in as little as 50 days with THC levels up to 30% and an aroma of earthy lemon,” said Kath.
“We are proud to be make varieties like OG Triploid available to Australian growers. It helps make our industry world standard,” said Tom Varga, Biortica’s CEO.
“It’s always been, and always will be, all about getting the very best outcomes for patients,” he said, “and to do that, we first have to get the very best of outcomes for Australia’s growers,” he said.
