Montana: Preliminary results: Silver Bow voters approve marijuana taxes

Voters in Silver Bow County have elected to impose a 3% local tax on marijuana products, according to preliminary results from the Montana Secretary of State’s Office.

All 31 precincts have counted ballots and reported them to the state.

Preliminary results indicate that 78% of county voters approved taxing non-medical marijuana, and 59% approved of taxing all marijuana products, including medicinal ones.

Voters also approved a search and rescue levy, with 75% of voters in favor of the measure.

The race for county commissioner, precinct 11, was very tight with Tommy Walker receiving 225 votes, and Jeffrey (Nate) Wilson receiving 223.
