SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – One person was injured in an industrial fire Thursday afternoon at a hemp processing facility in Springfield, firefighters said.
Battalion Chief Jeff Kronser said one person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
He said the facility’s sprinkler systems were able to keep the flames from growing.
“The fire was held in check by the sprinkler system until our crews were able to make entry and extinguish the fire,” he said. “At this point the fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.”
Everyone else got out of the building safely, firefighters said.
There was no word yet on a damage estimate.
