Portland Pickles Become First Pro Sports Club To Legally Sell THC-Infused Drinks At Ballgames

The collegiate wood bat West-Coast League Portland Pickles have inked a deal with Ballard, Washington-based Cycling Frog, who makes THC-infused seltzers. The Pickles make history by becoming the first sports team to sell THC beverages at their games.

Starting tonight, the sale of Cycling Frog THC Light Seltzer products will be available at every Pickles home game in Walker Stadium in Portland, OR. To start, two flavors of Cycling Frog Light Seltzer will be available, Passionfruit & Lemon, which contains 2 MG of THC and 4MG of CBD per can.

The sale of the seltzers are legal in Oregon. The Portland Pickles have consulted with the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (LCC) as well as Portland Parks and Recreation, which owns Walker Stadium where the Pickles host their home games. Because this product has 2MG of hemp-derived THC per serving, fans who are 21+ are the only patrons allowed to purchase.

“The Portland Pickles have a responsibility in the sports industry to take leaps and set the precedent of innovative partnerships,” said Ross Campbell, VP of Business Development for the Pickles. “As we saw in 2019, becoming the first team to ever partner with a CBD company, and quickly teams all the way up to the Major League level across sports follow suit. We are very proud to provide an alternative option at our games with Cycling Frog Products for our incredible fans and the city of Portland!”

Cycling Frog was founded in 2021 and advertises themselves as offering a range of hemp-derived, full spectrum cannabinoid products including signature THC seltzers, gummies, softgels, and microdose mints.
