Here’s the announcement
(Jan. 30, 2025) — Harris Beach Murtha is excited to welcome a well-known and respected cannabis attorney, deal maker and industry veteran with experience assisting cannabis companies with a wide variety of needs, including real estate matters.
Special Counsel Kristin Jordan represents cultivators, processors and retailers with real estate matters, municipal approvals, regulatory compliance and other cannabis-related issues. She will join Harris Beach Murtha’s Cannabis and Real Estate Developers industry teams.
“Kristin’s knowledge of the industry, her multi-faceted real estate background, the contacts she has made through the years as a cannabis advocate, her upstate New York roots and her New York City presence is exponentially accretive to our team,“ said FL Gorman, Esq., co-leader of the firm’s Cannabis Industry Team.
Kristin was active in New York’s effort to legalize cannabis prior to 2021 through the Start Smart Coalition and remains deeply involved today through her work at Harris Beach Murtha and outside activities. Kristin founded and will continue to operate her own firm, Park Jordan, a commercial real estate brokerage and advisory services firm serving the cannabis industry.
In addition, she is the Founder and CEO of Mannada, a NYC-based cannabis professional event production company that launched The Maze, a weekly cannabis event listing newsletter, as well as the Cannabis Summit Series, including the Cannabis Media Summit, Cannabis Real Estate Summit and Cannabis Law Summit. Kristin is also a co-founder of the Cannabis Cultural Association, a nonprofit that helps people of color and marginalized communities participate in the cannabis industry; and the Asian Cannabis Roundtable, a professional networking organization promoting the interests of people of Asian ethnic heritage in the cannabis industry. She serves as the president of the Board of Directors at both organizations. Additionally, Kristin is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Cannabis and is on the advisory board for Shoki Brands and Drop Technologies, both women-of-color founded brands.
Kristin has nearly three decades of experience in real estate law. She represents real estate owners, lenders, investors, developers and purchasers in a broad range of commercial and residential transactions, commercial leasing and landlord-tenant proceedings. She has experience with deal sourcing, financial modeling and analysis, site selection, land use, municipal and regulatory compliance, leasing and lease negotiations, acquisitions, landlord-tenant litigation and a host of other matters regularly addressed in real estate law.
Her experience includes serving as the real estate director for a global education firm, a global fitness company and a leading multi-state cannabis company. In those roles, she oversaw and managed retail, industrial and office real estate portfolios; developed and implemented real estate strategic plans to meet global business requirements; identified and evaluated real estate risks and opportunities to anticipate potential challenges; and supported and oversaw construction projects, schedules and budgets.
Kristin is a frequent speaker on real estate, cannabis regulations and social equity and economic justice issues, and an adjunct professor at LIM College’s Business of Cannabis Undergraduate and Masters’ Degree Programs.
