Regulatory Attorney – FDA/USDA Foster Garvey PC Washington, DC

The law firm of Foster Garvey PC is seeking an experienced partner-level attorney to join its Chambers-rated Business Group. This position will provide the attorney with a full-service bi-coastal platform to attract and grow a wide range of clientele as well as the opportunity to provide hands-on day-to-day close counseling of the firm’s existing clients in the food and beverage, nutritional supplement, cosmetics and other consumer packaged goods industries on federal and state regulatory matters. The attorney will advise clients on FDA/USDA regulatory compliance regarding food, beverage, dietary supplement and cosmetics labelling and packaging and related advertising and promotional claims. The position also involves leading the regulatory component of due diligence on sophisticated lending, finance, investment, and M&A transactions.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with key commercial transactions and contracts in the industry, including those related to manufacturing, packing, supply, bottling, canning, distribution, sales/brokerage, warehousing, fulfillment, logistics and the like. Experience with intellectual property protection and licensing a plus. A background with cannabis and alcohol regulatory matters a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work regularly with talented attorneys in a wide variety of practice areas across the firm’s five offices. Associate support will be provided.

While there is a preference for the position to be filled by a Washington, DC practitioner, candidates based in Portland, OR, New York, NY, Seattle, WA, or Spokane, WA will be considered. Hybrid remote/work-from-home arrangements will also be considered. Management/leadership opportunities for the interested candidate.
