Acting on information from the public, a man has been arrested following a drug search today in Peterborough.
Just after 11am, Monday 27 February, local police along with officers from Jamestown, Hallett, Yunta and Traffic Support Branch, attended a Peterborough address in relation to suspected cannabis crop.
On arrival, police were confronted by the 66-year-old occupant who threatened officers with a brick before threatening them with a knife. Police negotiated with him and after a short time, he discarded it. As police approached, he tried to punch officers before being restrained and arrested without further incident.
A subsequent search uncovered 20 mature cannabis plants growing at the rear of the property.
The accused was charged with cultivate a commercial quantity of controlled plant, assault prescribed emergency worker and carry offensive weapon. He was bailed to appear in the Peterborough Court on 19 April.
