ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Santa Fe Farms announced last week that it has acquired High Grade Hemp Seed, a Colorado-based company that specializes in producing and selling hemp genetics.
The acquisition is intended to help Santa Fe Farms grow its portfolio of hemp-centric companies in order to help the industry develop on a global scale, according to a news release from the New Mexico-based hemp company.
For Santa Fe farms, which is developing a vertically integrated hemp company, High Grade provides plant genetics to help the company grow. For the Colorado company, joining Santa Fe Farms provides a strong foundation in the supply chain side of hemp agriculture, as well as a springboard into industrial hemp, according to the release.
Santa Fe Farms acquired Fathom New Mexico, a hemp exchange founded by former Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Jeff Apodaca, last fall.
