Spain: Euskadi cannabis clubs demand the reopening of their establishments

The cannabis clubs of Euskadi have asked the Basque Government for recovering the activity in their establishments after the improvement of the epidemiological situation. In a statement Eusfac, the Federation of Associations of Cannabis Users of the Basque Country, urges LABI, facing the meeting that will hold this Friday, “to adopt less restrictive measures in relation to the activity of cannabis clubs.” “It is not acceptable given the current situation to maintain strict closure measures for associations”, they point out, since they understand that “the epidemiological situation has changed substantially with respect to the serious indices that forced the health authority to adopt exceptional measures of a nature. restrictive”.

From Eusfac they claim to be concerned about the “negative impact” that the closure of the clubs is having for their members, “some of them of a therapeutic nature with chronic pathologies.” They also warn that those who come with a recreational nature have sought alternative ways to acquire cannabis, “which entails a notable increase in the illicit market.”
