Facebook party raided and 39 arrested with drugs
Mar 14, Colombo: The Police Media Spokesman’s Office said 39 suspects were arrested with drugs after raiding a Facebook party organized at a hotel in the Waikkala area in the Wennappuwa Police Division.
The raid was carried out on a tip off received by the Wennappuwa Police yesterday (13) afternoon.
The arrested suspects are aged between 20 and 30 and are residents of Mattakkuliya, Ganemulla, Negombo, Anuradhapura, Wattala and Mirigama.
The suspects were found in possession of 02 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine), 110 milligrams of hashish, 05 grams of hashish, 27 grams of cannabis and 15 narcotic pills.
The suspects were remanded till the 16th of this month after being produced before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court.
Wennappuwa Police are conducting further investigations.
