The security forces of the Afghan caretaker government arrested eight people after they raided a suspected hub of drug smugglers and sealed a hashish factory in Greshk district of southern Helmand province, the government said on Wednesday.
The government said in a statement that the raid was conducted on Tuesday and the security force personnel “also seized a large quantity of drugs in the factory.”
Without providing more details, the statement added that the security forces would continue to target illicit drugs and those involved in drug trafficking. ■
