Taranto: 6 kilos of hashish seized, 22-year-old arrested by the State Police

Furthermore, in the boy’s bedroom, a piggy bank was recovered with around 5 thousand euros in banknotes and coins, believed to be the presumed proceeds of his illicit drug dealing activity.

Important seizure by the State Police which recovered a hundred blocks of hashish for a total weight of approximately 6 kilograms and arrested a very young 22 year old from Taranto believed to be responsible for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances.

The Hawks policemen of the Flying Squad, engaged as usual in targeted services to combat drug dealing, had for some weeks been putting under observation a 22-year-old man from Taranto with no criminal record suspected of having started a profitable hashish dealing business.

During the long tailing, the police would have noticed the young man’s frequent movements from his home to a nearby garage from which, after a few dozen minutes, he would have emerged clutching some wrappings in his hands.

To give substance to the suspicions that had developed up to that point, the police decided to carry out a search of the 22-year-old’s house.

With the help of the Border Police dog team of Brindisi, the police carried out a thorough inspection of the premises which would not have produced any immediate results, but their tenacity allowed them to find, cleverly hidden under a cupboard on the balcony, a large bag with around 5 kilos inside and a half of hashish packaged in a hundred small, well-packaged blocks of the unusual size of 100 grams.

In the subsequent search of the garage which the young man had been seen entering every day, the police found another half kilo of the same narcotic substance found previously and everything necessary for packaging.
Furthermore, in the boy’s bedroom, a piggy bank was recovered with around 5 thousand euros in banknotes and coins, believed to be the presumed proceeds of his illicit drug dealing activity.
The investigations made it possible to verify that the young man would have purchased the narcotic substance and the necessary supplies with an online transaction, after having found a “very advantageous” offer published on a well-known instant messaging channel.
At the end of the operation, the documents were sent to the competent judicial authority, the young man was arrested and accompanied to the local prison.
