Texas: Border Patrol agents seize almost 400 pounds of marijuana in smuggling attempt

LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol agents seized almost 400 pounds of marijuana in a drug smuggling attempt near Laredo.

Agents at Laredo North Station noticed a suspicious vehicle that had been abandoned on January 11 near Mines Road. The SUV had collided with a traffic sign and the occupants had bailed out, leaving it behind. Inside the SUV, agents found five bundles of marijuana weighing 391 pounds.

The drugs have an estimated street value of about $313,040, according to agents.
