AS CBD continues to go from strength to strength, both in clinical trials and in the minds of the mainstream, the question of the best organic CBD oil to purchase becomes more and more of a pressing one.
With studies discovering a wide, and increasing range of potential benefits from using CBD oil to help manage multiple health conditions, demand has been steadily increasing in recent years.
But with an increase in demand, often comes an increase in suppliers – and not all brands are offering the best quality product. In fact, with regulations in such early stages, product quality in the CBD industry is all over the place, with some CBD oil products being high in THC, and others containing zero CBD content.
The healthiest and most effective examples of CBD helping to manage specific health conditions come from products that are broad spectrum, organic, and high in CBD content, such as those found on Evopure.co.uk.
But what exactly does that mean, and what should you be looking for?
Let us explain:
What is Broad Spectrum Hemp Oil?
CBD oil is primarily taken for Cannabidiol, one of over 100 cannabinoids present in the hemp plant. However, this is far from the only relevant cannabinoid.
THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is a psychoactive cannabinoid responsible for the “high” feeling experienced by recreational cannabis users.
It’s important that any CBD oil you take for health purposes is either completely free of THC, or has less than 0.2% THC content. Any more THC than this can cause lethargy, exhaustion, or even cause you to fail a drug test.
Despite the issues around THC, most other ingredients in the hemp plant have been found to be beneficial. The hemp plant contains not just cannabinoids but also flavonoids, terpenes, vitamins, minerals and essentially fatty acids such as Omega 3, 6 and 9.
The entourage effect is the name given to the effect caused by the presence of all of these ingredients – which have been found to benefit each other and drastically increase the effectiveness of CBD itself.
Of course, some brands try to replicate this effect by synthetically adding cannabinoids at a later date, but this is no substitute for having the full range of cannabinoids in the naturally occurring ratio that is found in the hemp plant.
Put simply, a broad spectrum CBD oil has had it’s THC removed, but contains all other cannabinoids in the above-mentioned natural ratio, meaning this is the only form of CBD oil worth considering for health reasons.
Why Organic?
Organic CBD oil is grown in a way that cycles resources in an effective and efficient way, with the intent of protecting natural biodiversity and supporting the environment. It also means growing crops naturally without the use of nasty chemical pesticides.
With climate change being such a crucial part of the world today, you should always go for organic products when possible.
But this is arguably more important when buying CBD oil than in any other situation.
The reasoning for this is that many of the most common health conditions people use CBD oil in an attempt to manage, such as:
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Inflammation
- Chronic Pain
….are also conditions that can be significantly worsened by pesticides. For example, farmers with constant exposure to pesticides have been found to suffer from heightened levels of anxiety, and other studies even found that sleep apnea can be caused by pesticides.
The simple fact is, if you’re trying to manage one of the above conditions with a non-organic CBD oil, you’re likely wasting your time, even if every other aspect of the product is high quality.
Not to worry though, because we’ve listed our choices for the 8 best organic CBD oils in the UK, and if you stick to products from this list, especially the top half of it, you really can’t fail.
Let’s jump right in:
1: Good Hemp
Good Hemp’s CBD oil is a relative newcomer to the market, but the Devon-based company isn’t remotely new to CBD! For over 20 years, hemp – the carbon negative crop – has been the champion in their mission to inspire change for a healthier planet. Now, Good Hemp has set out to become one of the leading consumer CBD oil brands in the UK in 2021.
Launched in November 2020, Good Hemp’s CBD oil range stands out for its purity and eco-consciousness, with the CBD oil isolate being extracted from 100% natural, non-GMO hemp that benefits the environment, not harms it. The production process is entirely free of pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers and other unwanted toxins and chemicals.
Good Hemp’s CBD testing process ensures the product meets the Food Standards Agency’s exacting safety standards for food supplements and is therefore completely legal. The resulting pure CBD offers a clean and consistent dosage every time and is free from unwanted impurities.
2 : Evopure Broad Spectrum Hemp Oil
Evopure wins the top spot on our list for simply doing everything right – both in terms of product quality, and in terms of sustainable production.
Evopure offers 5% and 10% CBD content options, as well as a capsule which is a great option for those who dislike the naturally earthy taste of CBD oil. They use the full hemp plant in their production process, meaning you get the full hit of the entourage effect, but they also use a unique CO2 extraction process which is much more environmentally friendly than other methods.
This is done entirely from organic hemp farms in the EU, and Evopure even offers lab testing certificates for each new batch, meaning you can tell exactly what’s in your bottle.
Evopure CBD oil is also completely free of THC, preservatives, artificial colors, or any other nasty or unnecessary ingredients. The product is so pure and natural that you can tell it on the first use, with more of a natural, plant-like flavour than most other CBD oils.
They also don’t venture into more adventurous products like gummies or chocolates, preferring to focus on making the natural CBD oil itself as high a quality as possible, which is a massive upside if you’re looking for health benefits.
The fact that all of the above is possible, while still being cheaper than most 10% CBD options, makes Evopure our winner and a no brainer for anybody looking to see how CBD oil could help them.
3: Love Hemp
Love Hemp is another great UK based option for organic CBD oil. In fact, they are arguably the only one that comes close to matching Evopure.
They use a completely organic process and hemp sourced from the US to provide a high quality product that puts quality first. They also maintain all of the cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes in their naturally occurring ratios in order to benefit from the entourage effect.
Love Hemp’s CBD oil does contain THC, and is considerably more expensive than Evopure’s offering, which is why they are relegated to the second spot on our list. Outside of these two downsides, they appear to be a winner in every other way, and provide a natural and sustainable option for those looking to try CBD oil.
Love Hemp also offers a unique range of other products, including CBD chocolate bites, mineral water and more, which makes them a good option for those who dislike the natural taste of CBD.
4: Blessed CBD Oil
Blessed CBD is a small, family run business in the UK who offer natural CBD oil in 3 different strengths, as well as alternatives such as CBD gummies and CBD creams.
Blessed CBD is one of the most expensive products on the list, and so we wouldn’t recommend it for first time users who can trial out the high quality products shown above for much cheaper. However, if you are experienced with CBD and can afford the extra cash, they are still an excellent option with a natural and high quality product. Blessed CBD oil also has a page on their website dedicated to lab testing, and while not every single batch is tested, they have a good selection of guidance for you to check and ease any concerns you may have.
It’s worth mentioning that Blessed CBD oil is full spectrum, not broad spectrum, and so does have some THC content. This means it is best avoided for anybody who drives for their career, works with heavy machinery, or anybody who has the potential to be drug tested.
5: Holistic Hemp
Holistic Hemp is a small Scottish company that provides a range of products including CBD teas, balms, massage oils, and more.
The product is made entirely from EU-grown organic hemp, and the oil is full spectrum meaning some THC is present. While this will be a big downside for many, HH win points for their natural farming practices and dedication to sustainability.
They provide options for 10%, 15% and 20% CBD oil options, all of which come with a higher than normal dose of CBDA.
Holistic Hemp also offers an affiliate program and wholesale orders, making them more marketing and growth focused than most other companies. This does make the product itself come across a little generic, and the 10% option doesn’t quite have the bang for your buck that you’d get from Evopure, for example, but this is still a high quality organic CBD oil made right here in the UK, and their personal customer service is a nice touch, winning Holistic Hemp a solid spot on the list.
6: Hempura Original Broad Spectrum Extract
Hempura is a relatively well known brand that offers both full spectrum and broad spectrum options. In this list we are only discussing the broad spectrum CBD oil due to the aforementioned downsides of having THC content.
Made from golden winterised CBD extract and highly filtered, Hempura’s natural CBD oil is a very high quality product. It’s also rich in terpenes and flavonoids, and Hempura posts regular lab testing results on their website.
We would advise caution for those who prioritise environmental sustainability, since Hempura makes no claims of this and barely mention environmental impacts or extraction processes on their site at all.
However, it’s still a good option for those strictly interested in taking CBD for the potential health benefits, and they also offer some more unique products such as CBD gift bundles, vape liquids, teas and more – making them a useful way to introduce family members to the benefits of CBD, especially those with easy to offend palates!
7: Bud and Tender
Bud and Tender are going for the high-end CBD oil market, with luxury packaging and a pricepoint to match. To get across how upmarket they are, a 1ml sample size bottle is almost half the price of Evoure’s 10ml bottle.
B&T also uses an ethanol based extraction process, which is almost as effective as CO2 extraction in terms of product purity, but has its downsides in regards to environmental damage.
Those are the only downsides though, and if you’re happy to invest in a high quality CBD oil, you can certainly do a lot worse. B&T CBD oil also uses MCT oil as a carrier oil instead of hemp seed oil, making it a great option for those on a keto diet.
Bud and Tender also has a fruity floral taste, making it potentially worth splashing out that little bit further for those with sensitive taste buds.
8: Endoca Raw
Endoca Raw prioritises being vegan, gluten-free, and environmentally friendly. Almost all of their selling points are based around these areas, and they are a great option if you want to try CBD oil while minimising your impact on the planet.
Endoca is also very high quality, comes with high CBD content, and comes with a full range of lab testing results.
If we had to list a downside in comparison to the other entries on our list, Endoca has a very strong taste, and is quite expensive for the volume and dosage you get.
With that said, it’s still cheaper than Bud & Tender, and still provides a hearty dose of naturally extracted broad spectrum CBD oil, which makes it a strong option.
Endoca also offers by far the widest range of products on the list, including CBD for pets, CBD suppositories, pure CBD crystals, and other curiosities that aren’t common in the industry.
