The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) announces open recruitment for state Cannabis Advisory Committee (CAC)

The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) is excited to announce open recruitment for the Cannabis Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC fosters robust public discussion to inform the development of regulations and policy updates that advance a safe, equitable, sustainable, and well-regulated cannabis market.  DCC is seeking applicants that reflect the diversity of California and the communities impacted by commercial cannabis activity.

Applicants must submit a completed CAC application form and resume to [email protected] by July 31, 2024, in order to be considered in this round.  Applications received later than July 31 will be kept on file for future vacancies.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Cannabis Advisory Committee advises the DCC on the development of standards and regulations for commercial cannabis businesses, within the authority provided through Business and Professions Code, Division 10.  This includes regulations necessary to protect public health and safety while ensuring a regulated environment for commercial cannabis activity that does not impose barriers that would perpetuate, rather than reduce and eliminate, the illicit cannabis market.
