U.S. customs agents seize more than 150 kg of cocaine headed to Canada: CBP

Border agents seized more than 150 kilograms (330 pounds) of cocaine bound for Canada near the Ambassador Bridge on Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection says.

Customs officers in Detroit intercepted 153 kilograms (339 pounds) of cocaine after a Canada-bound commercial truck was “selected for examination” before crossing the border, the agency said in a press release Wednesday.

“[A] subsequent physical inspection conducted by officers revealed bricks of a white powdery substance concealed within two duffel bags and four moving boxes,” CBP said. “The illicit cargo was confirmed to be cocaine through subsequent testing.”
