The University of California, Riverside – Palm Desert Campus is continuing to lead the way in workforce development with its cannabis education program—now offering a 9-week online course designed to train individuals for careers in the cannabis industry.
The program, created in partnership with Greenflower, a Ventura-based organization specializing in cannabis career training, provides comprehensive instruction in areas such as cannabis cultivation, retail operations, and product development. Best of all, participants do not need to be enrolled at UCR to join.
“This is workforce development at its core,” said program organizers. “We’ve brought together leading cannabis operators to teach students exactly what they’ve learned from the front lines of the industry.”
Topics covered include plant growth stages, industry terminology, and business fundamentals. The program is open to anyone over the age of 18 and aims to equip students with skills that set them apart in an industry known for high turnover.
The course is entirely online and costs $750. Those interested can sign up through UCR Palm Desert’s website.
