UK: Drug dealer caught with cocaine and cannabis after police were called to fight

A drug dealer was found in possession of cocaine and cannabis after he became involved in a fight and the police were called.

Joshua Chamberlain, 23, was seen standing over another man shouting at him when officers arrived at a Caerphilly street on June 26, 2019, and saw the defendant had a bulky item in his pocket.

When he was searched they found a yellow Kinder egg which contained seven packets of white powder and a joint containing cannabis.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday heard Chamberlain was taken to Ystrad Mynach police station and his room at an address in Beech Tree View was searched.

Prosecutor William Bebb said among the items sezied from the room were a knuckle duster, a cigar box containing £830, and two tubs containing white powder, a blue handled flick knife and a black iPhone.

The total amount of drugs found were worth between £540 and £630.

On September 20, 2019, plain clothes police officers were on patrol near Caerphilly Castle when they stopped the defendant and searched him. He was in possession of three bags of cannabis, a clear bag of white powder, weighing scales and a cannabis grinder. A further iPhone and an Alba phone were also seized.

When the phones were examined they were found to contain more than 53 pages of text messages concerning the supply of drugs.
