Why Is The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA) Haemorrhaging Directors?

Four board members in one month.. What’s going on here then?

The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA) has announced a number of resignations following its board meeting in June.

Cymra Life Sciences CEO Joel Hardy, University of Sydney associate professor Nial Wheate, advocacy consultant Leon Beswick and Rita Martin from the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association have all stood down.

The board still meets the minimum requirement of five directors under AMCA’s constitution and general manager Gail Wiseman told members in an email it will not be replacing the outgoing directors in the near term.

However, she added: “New board directors will be considered over the coming months based on their expertise and capacity to contribute, and may be appointed in the interim prior to the next AGM.”
