This course will focus on the emerging trends of marijuana use and how to apply current drug laws to marijuana investigations. The confusing aspects of Maryland’s laws will be discussed as they relate to the use and possession of cannabis. Probable cause searches and searches incident to arrest will be discussed in-depth and the latest case law will be thoroughly dissected.
The types of cannabis, including synthetics and edibles, will be examined. We will provide you with an overview of cannabis physiology, administration routes, duration of effects, and the best practices to use when encountering a suspect under the influence of cannabis.
