Drummond Woodsum seeks an associate attorney with a minimum of 2 years of comparable law firm or relevant government practice experience to join its regulated substance practice at its Portland office. Drummond has the premier cannabis practice in the State of Maine and is a leader in New England. Drummond’s regulated substances practice attorneys assist cannabis businesses, municipalities, and Tribal Nations in Maine and across the country in navigating the robust and ever-changing laws governing the cultivation, manufacturing and sale of medical and adult use marijuana and hemp. In addition, the regulated substances group works closely with the firm’s government relations, corporate, employment, tax, municipal, and real estate practices to advise investors, property owners, and hemp and medical and adult use marijuana businesses on a wide range of matters including corporate formation and structuring; corporate mergers and acquisitions; capital raises; local permitting and licensing, trademark and intellectual property protection. The successful candidate must be proactive, with a strong work ethic and the ability to effectively manage internal and external client and counsel relationships.
